My 3d printer started life as a Tevo Tornado 1st generation in 2016. it has sense been upgraded to be able to print engineering grade materials such as PEEK, PEI, and PPSU.

The brain of the machine is  DUET 2 WIFI and utilizes the type k thermocouple temperature sensor board. these are tapped at m3 so that they screw in to the heat block, which uses a 24v platinum heater cartridge.

to maintain chamber temperatures a 24v automotive PDT heater was mounted in the chamber wall above the electronics. the stepper motors are protected from demagnetization via water cooling system manufactured from plate copper and refrigeration tubing. the tubes were bent into shape using a 3d printed pipe bender. the cooling plates are bolted on to the back of the stepper motors.

The coolant system exhaust heat using a standard 12v pc water chiller. previous atempts to use TEK (thermoelectric coolers) were used but could not sustain cooling effects during prolonged periods of operation.
